Dirty Mirror

Poems

Your world is like a dirty mirror

No matter what you see

You can paint it different colors and shades

Blue black white and green

But you’ll still just have a dirty mirror

No matter what color you use

You can keep painting if it pleases you

And see what you want to see

But the mirror will never give you a true reflection

It’s just who you wish to be

But in the darkest of hour when fear comes stumbling through the door

When you decide that the dirt is no longer pleasing to your eyes

When you decide to scrub the mirror all shiny and clean

Then you will get to see the world

As it was truly meant to be

All shiny and clean

Shiny and clean

The reflection

That shines

In your

mirror

I Know You

Poems

I may not know your name.

But I know who you are.

You may see me as a stranger.

But I know you as a friend.

You may show me your mask on the outside.

But I know who you are on the inside.

You may smile to the world.

But I know you are sad.

You may run and try to hide.

But I know where you’re going.

You may seem angry and forceful.

But I know you are scared.

You may believe that you can suffer.

But I know you have forgotten who you are.

You may have forgotten.

But I remember well.

I remember who you are very well.

But my words can only go so far.

You have to believe it for yourself.

Before you can see it for yourself.

You believe that you are ugly.

You are more beautiful than a rose.

You believe that you are unworthy.

You are more precious than gold.

You believe that you are incapable.

You are capable of all things.

You believe that you have sinned.

You are always forgiven.

You believe that you can die.

You are always eternal.

You believe that you have pushed love away.

You are always loved.

You believe you are not loved.

But I know that you are.

Because I love you.
